Lorine Azoulai
Lorine joined the foodwatch international team in 2026 as International Campaigns Coordinator. Based in Paris, she works across the foodwatch network to connect campaigners, build ambitious cross-country campaigns and turn shared priorities into collective action for healthier, more sustainable and democratic food systems.
Lorine is an agronomist specialised in sustainable food systems, with more than ten years of experience challenging the inequalities embedded in our food systems. Throughout her career, she has worked to expose corporate capture and the hidden costs of food systems, while helping build pathways towards food sovereignty.
Her journey began at the French environmental NGO Pollinis, where she campaigned to protect pollinators - tiny workers without whom much of our food simply wouldn't exist.
Building on this experience, Lorine spent five years as an independent consultant, providing expertise on topics ranging from trade regulation to Common Agricultural Policy. Alongside policy work, she supported supporting civil society organisations by strengthening their governance and fostering strategic collaboration.
Before joining foodwatch, Lorine was Food Sovereignty Advocacy Officer at CCFD-Terre Solidaire. Working alongside partners across West Africa and Latin America, she campaigned against the impacts of European agricultural and trade policies on local food systems. Learning from farmers and local communities became the foundation of her advocacy work, from national campaigns to the UN Committee on World Food Security.
When she's not talking about food (which, admittedly, happens quite a lot), you'll probably find Lorine underwater or on a dance floor. Having spent five years living on remote islands in the Indian Ocean, she developed a strong connection with the ocean and its remarkable biodiversity. And dancing? Much like sharing a good meal, it is one of her favourite ways to connect with people, express herself and celebrate.
