What is foodwatch?

We are fighting for your right to safe, healthy foods and to information about the things you eat. We keep a close eye on industry and politics – and to remain independent, we do not accept funding from governments, the EU or the food industry. As a non-profit campaigning organization we are funded by ten thousands of people. We operate at the national and European levels, and have offices in Germany, Austria, France and the Netherlands.

Mineral oil in foods

Rice, pasta, cereals, chocolate: many everyday foods are contaminated with harmful mineral oil hydrocarbons (MOSH and MOAH). One source of contamination is the recycled paper or cardboard used as food packaging.

In the supermarket, consumers must be able to see at a glance how balanced a product is. The Nutri-Score is the most comprehensible model of nutritional labelling that exists at the moment and it is gaining increasing support throughout Europe.

Additives

Eating and drinking several additives throughout the day could put our health in danger. Therefore, foodwatch demands a ban of food additives that are potentially dangerous for human health or misleading for consumers.
